Troy's Loccino American Italian restaurant doesn't live up to their image

Loccino in Troy tries to look like fancy authentic Italian food, but the facade crumbles when the food arrives.

Entrées
The poor quality of the food stands paramount. Everything about the restaurant portrays fancy authentic Italian, except the food, which is Americanized and cheap while priced as if it’s fancy. Those with a weak stomach would be advised against the fried foods.

The flavor of the sauces and the portion sizes are good.

Starters
Salad: Entrées come with a house salad which is standard both by default and by the quality of the salad.

Bread: Meals also come with complementary focaccia and a dipping sauce. The bread is a bit bland, which would be fine if the dip brought the flavor – but it doesn’t. Olive oil, vinegar and shredded parmesan don’t make a complete dip for this bread.

Experience
Everything about the environment is great from the valet, to the kind servers, and the tall wine racks. The seating is designed to give off an illusion of high privacy, which works very well. Unfortunately, the food doesn’t always come out at the right times and the servers suggest American food to indifferent guests.

Try to avoid using the restrooms here. One of the stalls doesn't latch and the other likes to flush automatically repeatedly while people are using it.

For a real authentic experience, head to Andiamo in downtown Rochester.

Looking for better American Italian food for about half the price? Try East Side Mario’s just a couple miles up the road.

My husband and I were going to have dinner at Charles Crab and found out it was closed!!!!! So we ended up at this new place called "Loccino". I am so sad to say nothing was good about it! They better call in chief Ramsey!!! and get the cook out of the kitchen. I had white fish.....it was so dry....and my husband had veal that was not good at all. We will not be back sorry.

This restaurant is amazing! I don't know how anyone could ever have a bad experience there. My family and I have been going once a week since the place opened and absolutely love it there! The food is to die for! Andiamo's and East Side Marios are disgusting and obviously you have no taste if you pick those over Loccino's.

I work in Troy and they dropped off a full lunch entree for us to try (to try and bring in business). 3 People in our office shared the entree (it was a very large portion), every single one of us became sick within 15 minutes. I called and spoke to several managers (they could not figure out who would handle this) and no one apologized or said they would look into it. NEVR AGAIN WILL I EAT FOOD FROM THERE!

Poor service, bland food, dirty bathrooms, ineffective mangement. Business needs to follow Big Fish lead and shut down.

I really do love the atmosphere at Loccino's and the food is good, but it isn't the best. I do enjoy their bread and salads though. I love their croutons.
