Tiny Tuscan biscotti for your Oscar Sunday 2009

Many movie fans in Italy will be watching this Sunday’s Oscar telecast live at 3:00 a.m. local time. Movies are truly an international sensation and the Italian media has been all over this event. In the past, many Italian films have won or been nominated for Oscars.

Those very passionate Italian movie buffs are sure to get hungry in the middle of the night. One snack they will definitely nibble on in Tuscany is their famous biscotti (in various iterations), very likely dipped in a glass of Vin Santo (sweet dessert wine) from Tuscany. This makes a great snack at any time of day or night.

Whether you watch the 2009 Academy Awards at home or with a group of people, there always seems to be food involved. After all, one can get very hungry watching all those stars walk the red carpet and wondering which ones will be happy award winners when the night is over.

Why not try making these delicious cantucci (very small biscotti originating from the city of Prato in Tuscany)? They contain no butter and have a great crunch when you eat them. They are easy to pass around and share.

Gorgeous picture! I printed out the recipe, and I'll pick up all the ingredients tomorrow morning. The Oscars are such fun to watch. Remember to sip slowly if wine makes you sleepy.
