Institutionalized U.S. antisemitism

Jonathan Pollard’s excessive punishment and mistreatment [being put in a lunatic ward, being kept in solitary confinement for months, made to say in a cold, cement floored cell naked, deprived of proper medical care despite illness] partly were the product of institutionalized antisemitism in the FBI.

Pollard tried to warn American Jewish leaders.  He informed them that he was given lists of prominent U.S. Jews not involved in the justice, intelligence, and defense agencies.  Prosecutors asked him to implicate those Jews, so they could prosecute them, without much regard to guilt, in return for clemency.  Pollard refused to give false testimony.  Nevertheless, some of those same Jews continue to malign him, although the FBI picked on other Jews in the same spirit (see www.jonathanpollard.org/ciralsky.htm).

Now, two of the former AIPAC employees whom the FBI picked on (Steven Rosen, victim of an FBI sting but against whom charges were dropped, and Larry Franklin, duped by the FBI into prosecution, but who got probation, when the charges were dropped against two others) say that they found the FBI had a notion of some Jewish conspiracy.

The FBI thought that Pollard might have worked with someone.  Franklin, a Catholic, said investigators asked him about every Jew he knew.  Rosen said investigators questioned why employees of AIPAC [known as the Israel lobby] were in touch with the Israeli Embassy.  Morris Amitay, a former head of AIPAC was asked the same question, but attributed it to ignorance rather than antisemitism.

The Anti-Defamation League has been taking up complaints about federal agencies’ treatment of Jews, especially ones with ties to Israel or Israelis who sought security clearances.  It thinks we need a campaign to sensitize the law enforcement agencies  (http://www.imra.org.il/  Independent Media Review Analysis, 7/31 from Justice for Jonathan Pollard).

    Good commentary in your article.
It should be noted that the ADL, after investigating the "complaints" which it has solicited, then SELLS sensitivity training to the various agencies who have been fingered. After it profits by selling sensitivity training, the ADL then issues an all-clean stamp of approval to the anti-Semitic organization. Draw your own conclusions!

If you wish to link Jonathan Pollard to anyone or any other event then why not discuss the attack on the USS Liberty??

I reported on a current case showing the same kind of prejudice that beset Pollard's experience with the U.S. justice system. The controversial ship incident is a past event not involving Pollard.
