Today is the third day of Eid al adha, marking the close of the biggest Islamic holiday. Muslims that were fortunate enough to make the annual Hajj journey have, by this time, finished making their offerings and carrying out the thousand year old rites.
Hopefully, those hujjaj or hajj goers, will write out their experiences on the new site http://hajjdiaries.com. The website allows visitors "get a taste of all the feelings, emotions, and powerful moments through reading the diaries and journals of Hujjaj who documented snapshots of their journey." If those reading have gone to hajj in the past, please do share your story there so that Muslims coming after can benefit.
Every year the Boston Globe features an Eid news story in photographs. This year's collection exhibits scenes from Jordan and Mecca and Malaysia and all the Muslims in between. Take a look below: Eid al-adha and the Hajj, 2009 (click for a comprehensive view).

Thank you! I enjoyed the slide show. I especially liked the pic. of the Mom helping the kid with her hijab; it was tooo cute, mashallah. I will try to save it as my screen-saver. Inshallah, my technically-challenged side will be able to manage.lol
You're so welcome, Sister Karen.
Thank you for letting me know that you viewed the article. :) Eid Mubarak.
That was so heart warming masha'Allah. I like the first pic (the arial view with the two minarettes) simply stunning!! Makes me more eager to renew my vigil to get rid of my debt so that I too may become a Hajja :>
Those pictures were beautiful! I love how they show some of the diversity that many people don't know about. One thing--in picture 14, is that a balloon in front of the little girl?
I love the photo of the mother adjusting her daughters blue hijab, so cute.
