Zombie School expelled from iPhone app store

The Zombie School app was banned by Apple from the iPhone app store.

It comes as no surprise that Zombie School has been banned from the iPhone app store. The game where you fight infected school members who have been turned into zombies by shooting at them from a shooting tower was bound to create a media firestorm based on the hot button issue of school shootings.

The game by Retarded Arts features three difficulty levels, online high scores and self-proclaimed "awesome controls of Bow, Gun and Hand Grenades!" It not only came under fire for its subject matter, but also for advertising on message forums that the game was just like "promoting school shooting."

Retarded Arts claims that the app being removed from the store must be from "massive confusion." Retarded Arts released a statement apologizing for the marketing gimmick.

Will Apple re-think the ban? Probably not. Nor should they. While the subject-matter of the game might have been just on the right side of the line, the marketing of it definitely crossed over. And if the game remains banned, perhaps Retarded Arts will act a little less like their name in the future.
