Move over Tweetie, there's a new iPhone Twitter client in town. TweetDeck is the newest Twitter client for the iPhone, having arrived in the app store earlier this month. And not only does TweetDeck rival the $2.99 Tweetie in features, it also beats it in price -- TweetDeck is free.
While it may be the newest iPhone Twitter client, TweetDeck has been around for almost a year as a web client. And one of the neat features of the iPhone client is the ability to sync up your TweetDeck account, so you'll get the same experience on your iPhone as on your laptop or PC.
TweetDeck has a very easy-to-use interface that is divided into columns that can be moved between with a swipe of the thumb. When you first sign up, there is a column for your friends' timeline, your direct messages and your mentions. You can also create custom columns by creating a group and moving some of your followers into it. This is great if you use Twitter for multiple things, such as using it as a news source as well as keeping up with your friends.
You can also easily send photos and mark your tweet with your current location.
TweetDeck is an excellent download for anyone that uses Twitter and hasn't spent the cash on a paid Twitter client. And, even those that have shelled out a couple of bucks for Tweetie or another client, it is definitely worth checking out.
