According to a Consumer Reports poll cited by the LA Times, 98% of iPhone users state that they would buy the phone again, awarding the iPhone with top place in smartphone honors. And this was despite AT&T faring poorly in the survey with the biggest complaint being voice connectivity.
Verizon won top honors among carriers with people pretty happy about the voice and data service, with the biggest complaint being the price. T-Mobile, which has been the center of new iPhone rumors, placed second in the survey.
But for those thinking the grass is greener at Verizon, only 54% of responders were completely or very satisfied with their service, which means almost half of us have some complaints. And almost a third of us have switched carriers within the past two years to get a specific phone -- which bodes well for T-Mobile if they do become an iPhone provider next year.

Just goes to show you the weight Apple has to throw around when it comes to negotiating with the service providers. It will be quite some time before anyone (HTC/Motorola/Palm/etc.) comes out with a device and selection of Apps that can rival the iPhone.
