Flickitty review

Flickitty took the usual ragdoll physics-based game and gave it better graphics and a cuter main character. That main character is Flick, an adorable kitten who wants to become the best employee imaginable. Unfortunately for him, that tall order includes completing a series of insane missions for various higher-ups in rather hazardous work conditions (OSHA would have a field day), where the only way Flick can get around is by flinging himself like a rubberband.

The gameplay is fairly intuitive, although it does take a couple of minutes to get the hang of the physics bearing down on Flick as he is flung all over the place. However, Flick is not a true ragdoll as he is quite alive, so controlling him is a bit easier than most ragdolls.

However, flinging the cat around is not the most fun part of the game. Since Flick can't die, only get severely injured and penalized during the mission, it's hilarious to find all the crazy mishaps the kitty can get into.

His inability to die also makes the game far less stressful and more laid back for the casual gamer or the newbie to physics-based ragdoll games. But that doesn't mean there is no penalty for electrocuting or poisoning Flick. Most of the missions require Flick to retrieve objects scattered all over the workplace, so if Flick falls into a generator, he will drop and lose one of the objects he retrieved, forcing him to find it yet again.

Everyone can find something to like about Flickitty, even if they are not fans of ragdoll physics games. The game has fun little missions, hilarious graphics, easy to learn controls, no death, and Flick gets cute little hats to wear when he completes jobs. What more could someone want from a game? But if you're still an unbeliever, dev3 was kind enough to provide a free, lite version to introduce you to Flick's dream of becoming employee of the month.
