DeadPanic iPhone iPod app review

The title screen to DeadPanic for the iPhone and iPod Touch

DeadPanic is a new strategic shooter released on the iPhone and iPod Touch. The game is the first effort of young Sean Maher, a new independent app developer and for a first effort it is considerably good.

The best way to describe DeadPanic is that it is a strategic zombie shooter. You take your soldiers, position them on the screen, and move their points of view to kill the endless hordes of zombies and monsters coming at you.  The gameplay is very easy to pick up and learn and in short bursts the gameplay can be downright fun.

The graphics are ok and the sound is also decent. There is some great eerie music used in the game that really sets a suspenseful mood. This and the story mode is what makes the game rewarding to play. You are also thrown enough changes as the game develops to keep you interested in the game.

Here is a gameplay video of DeadPanic:

DeadPanic is currently available to download on iTunes for $1.99. It is a high price for a download but considering what you’re getting it’s more than fair. DeadPanic is a solidly good, mature game with a decent story line and good gameplay. There is also a solid save system that allows you to stop in the middle of a level and pick up where you left off whenever you wish. I’d download this game and play it for months in short five to ten minute bursts.
