The Daily Plate offers calorie counting app to allow you to monitor your caloric intake on the go

Livestrong Calorie Counter App Applications for the iPhone 3Gs, iPhone 2G, iPhone 3g and the iPod Touch Reviews and RatingsThe Daily Plate, called TDP in the community, is an awesome diet food tracking program.  I can vouch for it myself since I did indeed use it consistently for two months straight before my wedding reception and lost 10 pounds that were consistently hanging on no matter how much I starved myself.   But the Daily Plate was a wonderful site to help me watch what I ate and allowed me to track what I was eating, and how many calories I was consuming.

So naturally, I was ecstatic when I noticed the Calorie Tracker app available to iPhone and iPod Touch users.  I could already imagine how useful it would be.  I hated having to find a time during the day to enter in what I ate, sometimes forgetting something or miscalculating my portions, or if I was at a restaurant, I couldn't make a decision based on calories since, well, most menus don't print that kind of information.  So the concept of The Daily Plate becoming available on-the-go was enough to make me download it when it was first released.

I do want to say, first off, that I believe this app should be free.  The Daily Plate is a wonderful, FREE diet monitoring program and I feel the app to help utilize what it makes available should be free as well.  Regardless, $2.99 isn't going to break the bank, and it pays for itself in no time after a few meals out without any idea how many calories may be lurking in that fully loaded caesar salad at the steakhouse.

Previous versions of the LiveStrong Calorie Counting app had some loading time issues and crash issues, but those seem to be few and far between since their first release.  Some have noted an issue with upgrading to the iPhone 3Gs and the app crashing, so be aware that they are still working on perfecting the app but it's potential is huge!

So while you're out and about and wondering how many more calories you'd be consuming if you got a whole milk latte versus a skim milk latte, and if you're tracking what you eat and want to stay within your calorie intake, the Calorie Counter by LiveStrong (also Demand Media) is an app worth downloading and utilizing with your everyday diet regimin.
