You may have heard websites advertising free app store promo codes or stating they have a giveaway for a certain app.  But how do you get those promo codes, you ask?  Well, here are a few different ways you can find, receive and win free iPhone app promotional codes!

ASK AROUND
It never hurts to ask the developers of the iPhone app for a promo code in return for leaving a review on iTunes.  It not only lets you try out an app that you are truly interested in using, but it allows the developer a chance to get some exposure and boost some reviews to get it seen by the App Store staff.  It's a win-win situation!

FLOCK TO THE FORUMS
There are several forums online dedicated to iPhone app developers for posting promo codes.  Of course, it's a great idea to register with these forums, post which promo code you used, and follow up with a review on the iTunes App Store.  This is common courtesy when using their promo codes, but can be a great way to try out some games or other apps that you may have passed by at first.  

SOCIAL NETWORKING
Getting on Twitter and other social networking sites is a great way to find free iPhone app promo codes.  Some developers will post promo codes on their Twitter sites, or will have websites and mailing lists to notify others when new apps are created and available in the App Store.  Keep in touch with some developers and return the favor by posting reviews on iTunes and you'll have plenty of sources for free iPhone apps!

GIVEAWAYS AND PROMOTIONS
A lot of app review sites (including this one!) will run giveaways and promotions of promo codes through their site, their Twitter account, their Facebook fan pages, and other social networking opportunities.  By signing up to be a fan, follow their tweets or be part of their newsletter emails, you always have a chance to win!

YOUR TWO CENTS
iPhone app developers love when people give their two cents about an application, whether it's positive or negative.  Both give them promotion and ways to improve their product in future version updates.  If you have a blog or are interested in becoming an iPhone app reviewer, the likelihood of receiving free promo app codes is definitely higher, especially if you are well-respected in the community of iPhone app reviews.  Sometimes, the developers will find YOU and supply you with some promo codes to use and share on your site!

These are just a few ways to get a hold of some free iPhone apps.  Of course, I'm sure there are more, but this should definitely get you started in the world of apps!
