I'll admit--I'm totally addicted to Instagram. It is a fun, quick, and easy way to make some great-looking images straight for your iPhone camera for free, and lets you easily upload them onto the site to share with others through Twitter and Facebook. But at the same time, I felt like Instagram was missing out on something. You're limited to the number of effects you can add, and you can't adjust or fine-tune them at all.
If you're looking for an iPhone app similar to Instagram but with a little more control, consider Snapseed. Snapseed is currently $4.99 in the App Store, but is well-worth the price. Sure, Instagram is free, but can it give you the capabilities to layer effects, adjust them, and fine-tune your images?
Nope.
Snapseed has a number of great effects on it, all which can be adjusted to your liking. You can add special effect frames, grunge textures, focusing adjustments, and even dramatic changes that adjust the contrast and colors. It uses some simple finger gestures in order to adjust the images, but these can quickly be reviewed by clicking on the "question mark" in the upper lefthand corner for a quick refresh.
If you've been looking for somethng similar to Instagram but with a little more to give, consider Snapseed. It is a wonderful photgraphy app that will make taking pictures and sharing them a whole new experience altogether!
