Online interactive advertising is one form of paid or unpaid internet presentation and/or promotion of products, services, and ideas. It is "interactive" advertising because it involves a mutual action taking place between the product presenter/promoter and the consumers.
Interactive Internet marketing is much more integrated than traditional advertising and provides a more animated experience for the consumer and more marketing data and web page statistics for the advertiser.
Some common types of interactive advertising used online are: keyword searches, referrals, interactive television commercials, polls, surveys, newsletters, flash presentations, quizzes, and tutorials. The possibilities are really only limited by the Internet marketer's imagination and the web developer's expertise.
In my opinion, the most successful interactive Internet marketing strategies are those which generate a positive response from the consumer, and repeat visits to your site. Very powerful interactive marketing strategies can even generate a huge word of mouth and/or email buzz driving further referrals to your web site.
