Google is in the processing of reinventing the email experience with a revolutionary new project called Google Wave. Google Wave represents Google's plan to change the way we email, instant message, blog and share documents.
One critical element of Google Wave are real-time updates. Not only can exchanges be updated in real-time, but users who allow others access to their wave can let those users update their own waves in real-time. Wave will also have a real-time search capability.
Google Wave features drag-and-drop file sharing. No more attachments, just drag and drop your computer's files into Google Wave to share.
Google's web-based email client, Gmail, does a pretty good job at fighting spam. But, some still does get through unfiltered on ocassion. The word on the street is that Google Wave will have even better security and tougher spam filters.
Wave was developed by the same team who developed Google Maps.
Google Wave was announced yesterday at Google's I/O Developer conference, although the project won't be available to the public for at least several months.
