Sarah Palin made several comments today durring her resignation announcement. Though propaganda and polished -- saying little about why Palin will resign -- these may shed some light on her intent.
Palin comments on her resignation and why:: "We know we can effect positive change outside government at this moment in time on another scale and actually make a difference for our priorities," -- Washington Post
More comments from Sarah Palin on why she will resign have been reported by the Associated Press:
"Once I decided not to run for re-election, I also felt that to embrace the conventional Lame Duck status in this particular climate would just be another dose of politics as usual, something I campaigned against and will always oppose," Palin said in a statement released by her office.
"It is my duty to always protect our great state. With that in mind, my family and I determined that it is best to make a difference this summer, and I am willing to change things, so that this administration, with its positive agenda, its accomplishments, and its successful road to an incredible future, can continue without interruption and with great administrative and legislative success," she said.

The Anchorage Daily News also reported on Sarah Palin's resignation and the New York Times reports that, "by leaving office early, Ms. Palin, a 45-year-old mother of five, will be able to travel around the country more freely and not be constrained by the duties and responsibilities of being a governor."
