Gov. Sarah Palin resigns. Almost. The surprise news today is that the Alaskan governor will not seek re-election in 2010 and plans to resign on July 26, transferring power to Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell. But this doesn’t mean that Sarah Palin has called it quits on politics. [UPDATE: Sarah Palin Resignation Announcement video below.]
BNO News reports that while the governor did not provide any reasons for her pending resignation, nor take any questions at a news conference earlier today, it is expected that Palin will run for the presidency in 2012. [Update: Palin speaks about her resignation, comments below.]
The former vice presidential candidate has been in the unfavorable spotlight for months since the day Sen. John McCain tapped her as his running mate.
So beloved by the media and many internet pundits, Palin was bestowed the Sitting Duck Award by the National Society of Newspaper Columnists just this week.
Should Sarah Palin resign from politics completely there will be plenty of bored bloggers. Conversely, a run for the presidency would fill editorials, comic pages and reddit memes for years to come. Though some share the sentiment that Palin did not get a fair shake. [Update: Rumors are circulating that sources close to Palin have told MSNBC that Palin is out of politics for good.]

Palin's resignation is welcome news!
It's interesting to note that Gov. Palin's resignation comes right about the same time that SarahPAC is announcing how much money she has raised. I suspect that will be the next Palin bombshell, that she has raised a huge amount of money, which alone will make her a powerhouse in the republican party. Now that she will be free to travel, she will undoubted attend some of the hundreds of events she's been invited to since the election, and will be in the lower 48 on a regular basis.
Congratulations to those who have attempted to destroy Sarah and her family. I always voted Democrat until I saw how the Democrats and its media disrespected the choice of Bush as president in 2000 and tried to destroy him from day one in office. Many of you out there actually believe in dictatorship and not democracy. Perpetuate the hate folks - you have ruined this country!
You have got to be kidding me, are you people that stupid? She would be like having a female george bush, only FAR worse. If she thinks she is qualified to be president, I might as well run, at least I'm in the right age group, and probably know more about politics than she does. I don't want people probing into my private life, or my childrens, that's why I will never put myself out in the public eye for people to find fault with my values, or my decisions in life, she on the other hand, wants herself out there, but doesn't want any negitave attention. Sorry Darlin, it comes with the territory, deal with it, or get the hell out of it.

I wish all you so called new people would get your heads out of your you know whats and finally realize where this country is going to end up with unless we get people like Sara Palin in there to run things. I swear all of you just get on the train like everyone just to sell papers. Guess what i use your papers to start my fire place, that is all it's good for.
