Train Baby replaces Falcon Heene (Balloonboy) as media hero

The speeding train just before it hit the stroller (AP image)

Anyone who was awake on Thursday October 15th, 2009 should have heard about Falcon Heene, the Colorado boy who was thought to have been set adrift in a huge mylar balloon but was later discovered to have been safe all along.

America, and the world, watched an empty balloon for hours hoping against hope that it would land safely and a mousy little boy would come out, shaken, but safe.  The world was captivated by an empty sack of hot air . . . and for the first time in a while, it wasn't a politician.

In Australia, however, a real nightmare was unfolding.

A baby stroller containing a very young infant rolled onto the tracks at an Australian station and before anyone could react it was smashed to bits by a speeding train.

The stroller was destroyed, but miraculously the baby survived.  Whether or not the child is from Krypton has yet to be divulged, but this was one Super baby!

Sherri I was amazed by the story, and I can't believe the focus is still on balloon boy. I'm thinking it's because the world feels duped and now we're out for blood. What do you think?
