It's our final day of Etsy spotlight week and today's feature is a real wizard with Jewelry design. Her earrings and necklaces for bridal sets are truly bewitching. Others are truly green with envy at her talent.
Let's face it folks, with a name like hers, we could go on all day with movie references. We'll stop before someone sends us into a field of sleep inducing poppies!
The Wizard of Roz, owned and operated by the truly interesting Roz Abramovitch, presents a unique line of earrings, necklaces and bracelets handcrafted with Murano and dichroic glass beads. She uses Swarovski crystals, freshwater pearls, sterling silver and gold. Roz only uses Swarovski crystals in her designs due their patented cut and brilliance.
Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, she relocated with her husband, Howard, to Fargo in 2003. She's passionate about animal welfare and shares her love with two felines, Buster and Gabe. She only recently opened her shop on Etsy, but also participates in local artisan shows.
How did you get started selling your product?
I often require some form of artistic outlet in my life, be it through my habitual baking or the creation of my jewelry. Having followed 'Etsy' for the last couple of years, I felt it would be a good fit for me, given that the tools are all there to get you going on your own web site without the need of a web developer.
What do you like most about selling online?
I appreciate how it is possible to reach more potential customers through web sites such as 'Etsy' and not have to go to the expense of paying rent for a retail location. It is an extremely user-friendly web site and easy to navigate. I am confident that my efforts will be rewarded and hope that more fans will fall under the spell of 'The Wizard Of Roz'!
What do you like least?
I guess the only downfall is that it is difficult to truly capture the beauty and sparkle of crystals through the camera lens. For every photograph I publish, I have taken about twenty! I try various backgrounds and settings and hope that the images and the detailed information connected to each item translate well.
What word of advice do you have for our readers interested in selling their products online?
Try to be creative in your photographs and with the description of each item. Provide as many details as possible, such as measurements and color, that will help answer many of the questions your sellers may have. Let your own personality shine through, and make shopping at your site a fun and entertaining experience!

Thanks Roz!
Another great way to gain a presence on Etsy is to do a little shopping yourself. Build a little street cred by interacting with other vendors, making some purchases and creating a 'favorites' list of both sellers and items you like. You'll not only show to potential buyers you're an active member, but that you have interest in the Etsy community. Who knows, maybe you'll strike up a conversation with a fellow Etsy seller and make a connection. We call that networking and it's a wonderful form of free advertising.
