Orggit.com; central online hub for sensitive and confidential information

Orggit.com recently contacted us to do a review of their site and services. While no one word or phrase can describe Orggit.com, the title can sum up it easily. It truely is a central online hub for sensitive and confidential information. The information that you can securely store in Orggit.com includes;

  • Wallet Info
    • Auto Insurance
    • Checking Account info
    • ID Numbers
  • Medical Info
    • Allergies
    • Healthcare providers
    • Meds
    • Medical Docs
  • Accounts & Codes
    • Website Login info
    • Other secure login info
      • Alarm codes
      • Passcodes for bldg entry, etc
  • Filing Cabinet
    • Credit Card Info
    • Investment Docs
    • Loans, Taxes and other Financial Data
    • Property Info, Legal and Insurance Docs

The setup process was among the easiest recently seen on any security based information repository. Orggit's website walked you through the signup and set up process. The time from signup to entering my secure data took less than 5 minutes.

On the topic of security, you may be asking how secure Orggit.com is and how is "my" data protected in this era of credit card fraud, ID theft and leaks of sensitive information. As a past victim of ID theft, the Internet and Technology Examiner takes this very seriously, and would never trust "sensitive data" to just any site that advertises "security".

It can also allow you to appoint family or friends that will be able to access your data should you be incapicitated or pass away. They will see your data and then they can close accounts, notify providers, etc.

Orggit is extremely public and proud of their security measures that protect your data. They should be. On their security page, they boast;

Client passwords, security questions, account numbers and phishing images are encrypted with AES 256 bit encryption....AES-256 bit encryption, currently the strongest available, works like the lock on a safe. We use it to encrypt data with a massively long combination number. The number is so long that there are over 1077 key combinations available, rendering brute force attacks infeasible.

As a side bar here, AES 256 bit encryption, is the same standard the National Security Agency of the US Government approved for top secret information. And you read it right, that is 10 to the 77th power of key combinations. Personally, my confusion starts at long division.

There is an iPhone app available for your information on the go. Also, they do have plans for a secure mobile website for other Web Enabled Phones and Smart Phones.

we are currently working on prototypes of an Orggit mobile web application. This application will give you all the benefits of accessing Orggit on your mobile phone through your mobile browser. Look for this feature to be released soon

You can never put a price on security, however, at $24.99 (50% off of the usual cost), you can see that while there is a cost, it is minimal in terms of securing your important data.

    Orggit works ok, but does not allow me to log enough of my possessions. I've found another website that covers a lot more, check out keeptrackofmythings.com. I was able to sign on for free.
