She brought you into this world, gave you love, protected you and maybe even showed you the meaning of life. Now it is time to show Mom how much you love her with a cool gadget or techie gift. There are so many gadgets, and gizmos that you can get your mom for that special day. All products here will NOT break the bank as they will all be under $200.
Starting at the upper end of the scale is the Apple iPod Touch 8gig model. It retails for about $199 and can be found pretty much anywhere. It (less the GPS) products will run the same software as the iPhone and could in theory be called a mini/portable internet device. It is WiFi compatible for both home wirless networks as well as hot spots such as Panera, Borders and Barnes & Noble. It also has the ability to sync all of your data from your email, contact managment and scheduling packeges, so it will all be at your finger tips. Finger Tips is a key word here as it is all touch controlled. Apps can be downloaded on the fly right from the app store, provided you are connected to a WiFi network.
Another (believe it or not) great gift for mom is the Nintendo DSi. While your child may get a bit jealous at seeing the DSi in the hands of an adult, you need to keep in mind, that gaming is not for the kid any more. Infact, there are many adult oriented (not explicit) games/applications that she would be very happy with. There are recipie programs, weight loss programs, as well as puzzle games too. They go for between $150 - $179 and are most retail outlets, AND Amazon.com
How about a couple of high quality, low priced cameras ? Well we have reviewed a couple of great ones here. First is the Casio Exilim Z33. For under $100, you get great quality. And, as reviewed here, it is as good if not better that the more common brands of Kodak, Canon and Olympus. It also takes great videos that can be uploaded to youtube. Check it out at Amazon.com Coby USA, another underdog that will see its day has recently put out the Snapp CAM5000 which is not only a still camera, BUT it is also a true HD (720P) digital video camera. Again, for under $100, you are getting the quality and features that are seen in $200+ cameras, including an HDMI cable which is rarely included with anything.
Does your mother have a Bluetooth enabled phone, but is lacking the headset ? Does she drive with out a hands free system or does her car not have Bluetooth enabled ? Well to keep her abiding with the law and her eyes on the road, Check out the Jabra Cruiser Bluetooth speaker system that clips right on the visor. This enables full hands free talking and hands on driving.
Don't forget to help Mom to get where she wants to go. Many GPS products, including the Magellan Maestro 4700 are under $200, and some are even under $99. Take a look at the two GPS devices that i have feviewed recently. The articles are to your left.
For lower priced MP3 player options, do not discount an underdog. The Coby MP620 gives a remarkable sound, even better than others in its class like the iPod shuffle. And it also plays video.
