Mobigo from vTech; so fun, your kids wont believe they are learning

Late in May, at Sandbox Summit, I was introduced to two great "funjucational" products from vTech. One was the Mobigo, a new Touch Learning system for kids.

Unboxing the MobiGo was as exciting for me as it was for my 7 year old assistant. Once the batteries were put in, it was time to turn it on and take it for a test drive.

Lets rephrase that; it was immediately stolen by my assistant. What better way to test the newest "funjucational" product to come out of vTech, than having the actual audience for who it is made for.

Without instruction, she immediately turned on the MobiGo and started going through the pre loaded and included games. From a parenting standpoint, it was great to see something that would keep the attention span of a 7 year old. It was difficult for her to put it down.

It comes with one cartridge which includes fun lessons involving math, logic, spelling and music. Each, in and of itself alone are enough to amuse and keep a child occoupied for hours. This is one handheld (and I hate to call it this) toy that you won't mind your child spending time with.

As for the other lessons available, they ran the gamut of difficulty. They use favorate childrens characters such as Dora, Shrek, Cars and Mickey Mouse to make learning fun as the difficulty goes higher. They will learn skills such as Rhyming, Vocabulary, Math, Logic and Music. It is very difficult to sustain the attention of a child from 3-8, but once they understand the ways of the MobiGo, it will then be difficult to pull them away.

Vtechkids.com also will be offering free downloads via the included USB cable later in the month or in July at the latest. (stay tuned to this article for updates). This just goes to show, the company's commitment for childhood learning and will only bolster their reputation.

Esthetically, it is an easy handheld unit to hold for small hands. Its larger rounded handles make it easy for children to grasp. The touch screen turns your childs hand into an extension of his/her own learning tool.

With summer upon is, and school release dates soon approaching keep your elementary school child fresh with knowledge, or on the other end, prepare your pre-k or K student for whats ahead. The Mobigo Touch Learning system is the EXACT tool for the job. You will be amazed at how it keeps your childs attention and will rejoyce in their faces as they succeed as they learn.
