Microsoft Outlook 2010 Social Connector expanded to Facebook and Myspace

The Microsoft Outlook 2010 Social Connector has been expanded to include Facebook and Myspace.

Late last year (November), on the official site, it was announced that Linkedin would be supported in the Outlook Social Connector.

In theory, if all goes as planned, Microsoft is stating; ".......Stay up-to-the-minute with the people in your networks by accessing everything from e-mail threads to status updates in one single, centralized view.
Synchronize your contact data right into Outlook 2010 and obtain information about your friends and colleagues. See status updates from various networks and recently posted files-even view shared photos"

On the official blog Microsoft was proud in saying; ".......We're excited to announce partnerships with Facebook - the most popular social Web site in the world, and MySpace - a leading social platform connecting people through expression, content, and culture."

Does this mean you might see a MSBook, MSSpace (although Live Spaces is cool) or MSwitter? Highly doubtful. But what it means is that with one single app, you can see updates, connect to them and even update yourself. Outlook could become the next great Social Media portal of sorts, much like Meebo on your pc and Snaptu on your smart phones. One app, many applications; isn't that what multi tasking is about ?
