With over 10 years in the memory and storage media industry, Lexar is no "fly by night" operation. Its experience, product quality and consumer satisfaction make it a leader. Their Products run the gammut, from SD and microSD cards, to flash/jumpdrives and the ultra secure and water proof JumpDrive SAFE S3000 FIPS product. Well it is now time to meet four other products, including the JumpDrive SAFE S3000 which is the small business version of the previously mentioned product.

Much like its counter part, it is true plug and play on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7, and also boasts interoperability with MAC OS X platforms. This means, no software to deploy or instal.  It also boasts the AES  Hardware encryption and Smart Card based authentication. Its rugged metal housing protects it from most damage, within reason. While it is not suggested that you try this, it was subject to being backed over by the writers compact car. It appeared to be scratched, but we aren't winning fashion contests, we are protecting data here. And protect it, IT DID. It went right back into the USB port and came up with no problem. As tested, it was an 8gig drive. You can purchase them in 2,4,8 or 16 gig sizes.

Also reviewed was the JumpDrive Retrax.

It boasts a eye pleasing retractable design which does not  need a top cap to protect the USB input.Like all of Lexars products, it is plug and play on all major operating systems and as a bonus, it was also tested and performed flawlessly on Ubuntu 9.

The LED activity light signifies data transfer, whether reading or writing. It is available in 2,4,8, and 16 gig sizes

Third in this potpouri of products is the Lexar JumpDrive TwistTurn. 

It is another capless design thanks to its rotating jacket. The jacket itself is a plastic composite material that will easily protect it from life's daily bumps and grinds.

Again, as with the "Retrax" model, it is plug and play on all major OS systems as well as Ubuntu 9.

It also has an LED indicator light signifying data transmission.

It is available in the usual 2,4,8 and 16 models, but unlike its relatives, ads in a 32 gig model for good measure. It is the model with the most storage options.

Lastly, only in order, and certainly not quality is the little JumpDrive FireFly.

It is quite "cool" looking to say the least. It is the smallest of all of Lexar's offerings. By small, physical size is the judge, not storage space.

Its little body can hold up to 16 gigs of data, and is ultra portable.

Again, as with the last three drives, it will run on all major OS systems as plug and play, including Ubuntu 9 flavor of Linux.

Two other products that they offer are the JumpDrive Lightning which offers a 22mb/sec transfer rate while held in a durable stainess steel case, and the JumpDrive secure II plus with a capacity meter and industry standard security software to protect your data.
