All Federal offices in our nations Capital will be closed on Monday, December 21st, due to the whopper of a snow storm over the weekend.
"Federal agencies in the Washington, D.C., area will be closed Monday as the region continues to dig out from a record-breaking snowstorm.
Non-emergency employees will be granted excused absences, while employees who telecommute may be expected to work from home. Emergency employees will be expected to report.
The U.S. Office of Personnel Management made the announcement Sunday afternoon. A spokeswoman tells The Washington Post the decision was made for safety reasons.
The office reported earlier this month that the government loses about $100 million in productivity and opportunity costs every time it closes its D.C.-area offices."
