Starting July 3rd, Lance Armstrong and his Team Radio Shack will race through France in the 2010 running of the Tour de France, or Le Tour. Twenty stages and one prologue will wind through cities and towns where thousands will camp out, drive to, and wave as the peloton screams by. That's just a preview of what France has to offer travelers this summer season. Here's more:
Antibes Jazz Festival: Celebrating the 50th anniversary, this internationally recognized festival runs July 14 through 25th.
Paris d’Amour: The exhibition of photos of Gérard Uféras at the Hotel de Ville in Paris runs through July 31st.
Chartres Festival of Light: Through September 18th, 24 monuments in this small medieval town just an hour outside of Paris will come alive with colored lights and music. It's truly spectacular and in 2008, the event drew over 800,000 visitors.
Normandy Impressionist Festival: For the first time, the towns across upper and lower Normandy will celebrate the Impressionist movement with a festival featuring art, music, dance, and literature. The event runs through September 26.
