Just ran across this website offering some killer deals post Fourth of July. How about Aruba for $79. per night or Honolulu for $84. a night, and they have dozens more. The company is www.cheapostay.com and I've never booked with them so cannot comment on their customer service, but as always, check the fine print, and get on their email list of deals so should you have some last minute vacation time that just popped up, these folks may have the deal for you.
They are part of the cheapoair group offering great air fare deals as well. We visiting Honolulu and some out islands a few years back, and for west coast folks, it's a quick five hour flight, shorter than it would take to drive to Huntington Beach.
