South Korea's Kim Yu-Na may have just become that nation's as well as the world's newest figure skating darling.
Kim Yu-Na, also referred to as "Queen Yu-Na," far surpassed her competitors at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
Kim Yu-Na performed a stunning rendition as 'Bond girl' which NBC commentators attributed as "sensual" and "flirtatious."
It was also near-flawless from a technical standpoint.
At the end of Tuesday, Kim Yu-Na led Japanese rival Mao Asada and Canadian Joannie Rochette after the short programme.
The Olympic women's figure skating competition continues on Thursday in a medal event finale.

The South Korean, a reigning world champion, not only sold television commentators and the audience, judges were also highly impressed.

So much so that Kim Yu-Na scored a world record mark of 78.50 points for her routine. Her James Bond medley opened up a 4.74-point lead on Asada who herself gave a tremendous performance.
Both Yu-Na and Asada will enter Thursday's free skating final in what is billing up to be a highly anticipated medal event in these Winter Olympic Games.
Kim Yu-Na is 19 years old and is the favorite to become South Korea's first Olympic figure skating champion.

After Kim Yu-Na's performance on ice at the Pacific Coliseum, her fans chanted "Yu-Na, Yu-Na, we love you!" Her jumps included a triple lutz/triple toeloop combination and landing a triple flip and double axel.
In an interview, Kim stated:
"I'm not under pressure. I can think of it in two ways. I could let the pressure get to me or I could try to maintain the good start I had today." - International Sports Examiner
