He’s summited California's Mount Whitney, rafted the Grand Canyon (three times), bicycled the 500-mile Iowa cross-state bike tour (twice), dog sledded in Alaska, and has over 250 scuba dives in exotic locales. He’s hiked to the top Half Dome, the granite monolith symbol of Yosemite National Park 31 times and written two guidebooks about it. He is a certified Nordic Walking Instructor and is a member of the National Speaker’s Association giving motivational talks and lectures at museums, libraries, colleges, outfitters and to civic groups.
