Tropical Storm Agatha in Guatemala killed 146 people over the weekend, and Monday a massive sinkhole in downtown Guatemala swallowed an entire three-story building; at least 146 people are dead. 123 people were reported dead in Guatemala, 17 people in Honduras, and 9 in El Salvador; 69 are injured. Another 90 people have been reported missing in Guatemala.
The photo to the left was released by Guatemala's Presidency on Monday. Local authorities blamed the massive sinkhole on heavy rains that Tropical Storm Agatha caused. An investigation is underway to determine any additional causes.

According to Wikipedia, a sinkhole occurs when the ground is peeled away by water, they vary in size from very small to very large.
In April of 2007 another massive sinkhole occurred in the same area and killed three people.
