Aug. 10/Archeology at White Tank Park ~ White Tank Mountains Regional Park: On this 1.5 mile hike, on an easy trail (with some climbing) you will get to view evidence left by people who lived in our Valley long before any European visited our shores. Rangers will take you to areas not usually accessible to the public. There is some rock climbing involved so wear good shoes. No dogs please. Aug. 19/Third Thursday Melrose Crawl ~ 7th Ave. between Indian School and Camelback Rds., Phoenix: A variety of shops, food, drink, and occasional entertainment, 602-279-1443
Aug. 20/Friday Nite Lights ~ Historic Downtown Glendale: 3rd Fridays of every month from 5-9pm. Late night shopping and dining in quaint storefronts and charming bungalows turned shops. www.visitglendale.com
Aug.21/Stargazing at White Tank Park ~ White Tank Mountains Regional Park: Come and view an informative and entertaining slide presentation and then look at the night sky through telescopes that will be set up for closer viewing of the celestial bodies. Meet at Area 4 about 7:15. Program starts at 7:30 pm. Feel free to bring a lawn chair or something to sit on.
