Now that we have entered 2010, its time for a fresh start. Interior design is constantly changing and its about time that we equip ourselves with knowledgeable material. From modern, to minimalist, and country chic, tons of magazines try to tackle ever changing trends/topics. Here are our top 10 interior design magazines for 2010 that are absolute MUST HAVES.

Dwell Magazine- Only a decade old, Dwell magazine has changed the interior design industry. We like to think of Dwell as a fine blend between sustainable design, architecture, and interior design. Many of their principles lie on practical design applications. They are an easy to read magazine and extremely versatile. Dwell packs its own punch by hosting Dwell on Design, the West Coast's largest modern design event.
Elle Decor- Elle Decor represents elegance and sophistication wrapped in with modernity. Their magazine is a showcase of wonderful interiors. Elle Decor represents the finer side of interior design revealing luxury products and applications. Elle Decor does a wonderful job of fusing an "Upper East Side" styled posh interior into the modern day. Currently, Elle sits pretty as the top interior design magazine beating out iconic Architectural Digest, and defeated Domino magazine.
Metropolitan Home- Metropolitan Home is a contemporary interior design magazine for the eclectic. The magazine offers a great balance of showcasing mid-century interiors with modern, eclectic with minimalist. We especially enjoy Met Home because they offer something for everyone. One of our favorite segments of the magazine is their "High and Low" which reveals trendy home decor for any budget. Another great touch to the magazine is "What the Pros Know." After every interior feature the magazine reveals insider knowledge on how the designers decorated the space. Met Home is the melting pot for interior design styles and trends.
Architectural Digest- There would be no top interior design magazines without mentioning the iconic Architectural Digest. Architectural Digest features the best architects and interiors designers in both the country, and around the world. Their magazine is like a classic book that you place on your coffee table for show. Each page is filled with vivid and breathtaking interiors that you do not want to put it down. AD is most known for their own list of influential designers. Each year, the magazine publishes AD's Top 100, an international directory of the most innovative architects and designers. Architectural Digest is like the Cary Grant to interior design magazines. With a tenure in the industry, they are forever evolving with every style, product, and trend.
House Beautiful- If I had to think of one magazine that could compete with the late Domino magazine, it would definitely be House Beautiful. House is a feel good read that empowers its readers to make changes to their interiors. Its more practical for the "average Joe/Jane" showcasing interiors that would be in an everyday home. House Beautiful offers great design tips and often piece together interiors with spectacular segments like "Instant Room." House Beautiful is functional, practical, and up to date. When you go through the magazine, you are not overwhelmed by any gaudiness. House Beautiful best represents the people.
Veranda- Veranda is most like the Vogue of the interior design magazines. It showcases glorious interiors in such a way that makes them look like an exhibition in a gallery. Veranda focuses more on photo imagery of interiors demonstrating high end design and decor. Veranda also offers great insight into interior trends overseas. Many of their interiors come from estates in countries throughout Europe. Veranda is the perfect magazine for people who want to learn about the finer side of interior design
NY Spaces- We could not live in New York City without mentioning NY Spaces. NY Spaces is the most organic and artists magazine that we have seen. Many of their interior shots capture art just as much as design. We could classify NY Spaces as the "Tim Burton" of design magazines. Their concepts are both innovative and outside the box. They did not focus solely on interior decor and furnishings which makes the extremely rare and unique.
Do-It- Yourself- DIY magazine is a great publication that equips readers with practical knowledge on how to renovate their space(s). Unlike the other magazines mentioned, DIY magazine focuses solely on simple interior projects for around the home. With over 20,000 interior ideas, DIY magazine is perfect for those who want hands on experience changing their home.
Garden Design- Garden Design is a fairly new magazine that captures the refinement of polished, outdoor greenery. This is the first magazine (we have seen) that captures modern gardening design in such an original way. Garden Design would be the Elle Decor of gardening magazines.
Better Homes & Gardens- Last, but certainly not least is Better Homes & Gardens. This magazine has been around for decades and provides knowledge on home decor, furnishings, and interior design. Though it is not 100% interior design magazine, it does offer great ideas for interior styles like country chic. If you love BHG, you will love their online site. There is a section dedicated to decorating that pieces interiors together by color.
