This weekend in Pocatello, Idaho brings the annual Parade of Homes put on by the local Building Contractors Association of Southeast Idaho. From the Idaho Home Builders website it looks like a great variety of homes this year and should be fun to attend. You can pick up the tour books around town and at the homes themselves. Tickets are available at the homes but if you would like to get them for a buy one, get one free price, visit Merlin's TV or a Citizen's Community Bank.
Home Show dates and times are:
- Thursday, August 12, 2010 and Friday, August 13th from 1-9 pm
- Saturday, August 14th from 10 am to 9 pm
- Sunday, August 15th from 10 am to 6 pm.
Things to keep your eyes open for when walking through the homes include the colors used in the finishes; are there any new trends you see? The last few years have been pretty dark which coincidentally coincided with the economy. Will we see some brighter colors this year? How are the homes colors here compared to what companies like Sherwin Williams say are the current trends in homes?

How about finishes? Are the homes still all looking the same with Hickory cabinetry, dark granite counter tops, tile and dark wood floors and taupe walls? Or are there some new trends and some new, exciting finishes?

How about the layouts? Are the current trends of open floor plans still being found or are there some new ideas? What is your favorite home on the route? Send me your comments and let's get some photos! I would love to post some. I will be out and about checking out the homes and trends. I hope to see you too!
