Do you want to decorate with a Celebrate America Theme in your home before you head out to the fireworks celebrations? This year you can see two events: the Melaleuca Freedom Celebration in Idaho Falls takes place on Saturday and The Greatest Show in Idaho in Pocatello, takes place on Sunday. There are many things you can do to bring Old Glory front and center within your home that do not require you to drape your furniture with the American flag or have the flag hanging in every window. Using small things found around your home or purchased locally can add to the patriotic essence.
Have you seen the stars at Real Deals? They are great for adding some patriotic flair. They are designed to hang on the wall; think about hanging three or five in assorted sizes. Do you have a patchwork quilt in patriotic shades? Show it off by hanging it on a quilt rack that can either stand against the wall or even hang on the wall. In addition to quilts there are also plenty of throws and blankets that can bring these colors front and center in almost any room of the home.
Candles are another great way to display your patriotic spirit. Red, white, and blue candles are made in many wonderful styles, sizes, and fragrances. You should be able to find something appropriate in this color combination if you look hard enough. (Michael's, JoAnne Fabrics and Sierra's have them). More importantly, fragrance is a great (and often overlooked) way to add another dimension to your home decorating endeavors. Burn apple pie scented candles on a regular basis so that your home smells as "American as apple pie." In addition to candles of course there are fragrance warmers, air sprays, and simmering pots in which this scent can be found. Contact your favorite Scentsy dealer or Salt City Candle seller.
Think about setting the picnic table with red, white and blue napkins, plates and cups! Many of the local dollar stores are a great place to grab some fun accessories. Do not forget to hang your flag to show your patriotism. Do not have time to hang one? For a reasonable fee, the local Boy Scout troops will place one in your yard on each patriotic holiday.
Enjoy the holiday and display your patriotism. Think about decorating with some simple, symbolic decorations and you and your family can enjoy this fun holiday. Enjoy the fireworks displays and stay safe!
