Summer is fast approaching.
Is your husband or boyfriend one of the 3 types of men who typically have summer affairs?
He could be, if he falls into one of the three categories below.
Of the 50% to 70% of men who cheat on their mates, a significant number of them have short-term affairs during the summer months.
Men who wouldn’t cheat on their wives or girlfriends at other times of the year will risk having a summer fling, because they’re less likely to get caught.
Is your husband or boyfriend one of these summer cheats?
As you check the descriptions below, keep in mind that the types can overlap.
3 Types of Men Who Have Summer Affairs
• The recreational cheater - He considers infidelity just another summer sport.
• The seasonal cheater - He “rewards” himself for his good behavior all year by having a summer fling while his wife or girlfriend is away on vacation.
• The opportunistic cheater – He only cheats when an opportunity presents itself for him to do so without getting caught.
All three types of men consider summer the ideal time to initiate a brief fling, or a short term love affair. What’s interesting is that most of these men are normally faithful, devoted husbands or boyfriends at other times of the year.
If your spouse or significant other is the type to have summer flings, you’ll want to be especially alert, since infidelity increases during the summer months. See How 3 Women Discovered their Husbands Were Having a Summer Affair
Summertime holds special appeal for these 3 types of cheaters, because vacations, weekend trips and outdoor summer activities make it easier for them to cheat, and harder to get caught. See How Cheating Husbands and Cheating Boyfriends Hide a Summer Fling
Why You Should Never Ignore a Summer Fling
Like many women, you may be tempted to simply ignore a summer fling. But that could be a big mistake.
If he gets away with his summer fling this year, he’ll feel confident enough to try it again next year. And before you know it, summer flings will become a way of life for him.
Do you really want to have to deal with this every year?
Also consider the fact that his summer fling may never end. Some summer flings go on to become permanent affairs.
If the two of you are dating, it could mean the end of your relationship. If you’re married, it could mean a separation or divorce. See Will He Leave Me for Her?
Are you willing to take that chance?
What to Do About Summer Infidelity
The reality is that most summer cheaters never get caught. So if you don’t want to become a victim of summer infidelity, keep an eye out for any indication that your husband or boyfriend is having, or planning to have a summer affair.

Ruth Houston:I am a devote reader of the majority of your articlkes.I admire your writings. They usually are wright and show the truth.I´d like you write the same about women. How women usually cheat men?
Hi Ruth:
Where is the EVIDENCE that this is true?
What academic researchers did tightly supervised studies to come up with numbers that were verified for accuracy?
Interviews alone do not translate into trends.
Please verify this.
Thanks ever / Rita Watson
Rita,
Oh how you delight in challenging facts and figures youre unfamiliar with, instead of doing your own research, to find out for yourself.
As Ive told you repeatedly, most of my infidelity articles are based on my 16+ years of in-depth research on infidelity.
The summer infidelity article series is based on information from multiple sources which indicate a spike in infidelity this time of the year.
My research in this area is the basis of my annual Summer Infidelity Awareness Campaign, now in its 5th year.
Instead of relying on academic researchers to spoon feed facts and figures to you in a press release, try verifying the information by doing some research of your own. (Surely, you know how.)
I get most of my information the old-fashioned way. I do RESEARCH - using MULTIPLE SOURCES. (studies, reports, surveys, polls, statistics) backed by interviews I personally conduct, so I can analyze and verify the information for myself.
