In an executive order signed yesterday, President Barack Obama has put the US Postal Service in charge of delivering drugs and other medical supplies required for surviving the attack.
The order specifies that law enforcement personnel will escort postal employees.
According to the order, "This policy would seek to: (1) mitigate illness and prevent death; (2) sustain critical infrastructure; and (3) complement and supplement State, local, territorial, and tribal government medical countermeasure distribution capacity."
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has been instructed to work with the Post Office to develop a model for responding to a large scale attack---with anthrax being the primary consideration.
Obama says his decision to give the Postal Service a role in responding to a widespread biological attack won't supersede the authorities of other agencies.
This executive order comes on the heels of a Christmas day attempt by a Nigerian man to bring down an airliner.

Considering this "Service" can't deliver our mail correctly many times, I sure hope we don't ever need this kind of special delivery! Self care and home preparedness needs to be the key to survive what ever may come. ROTFLOL the USPS???? pathetic. Perhaps UPS or FedEx, but not USPS.
TBR,
I concur with much of what you said. And I'm sure this left many people scratching their heads.
