Liam Finn knows he's got pipes like his daddy, Neil (Split Enz, Crowded House and Finn Brothers). He's also not about to run away from other comparisons to his dad, like articulate song-writer and consummate arranger. Only in his early 20's, Finn has recorded some of his generation's finest music. Recently Finn released an EP, Champagne in Seashells which continues his stretch of sonic adventurism. Finn comes to the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton, Mass. on October 31. Appearing with Finn are Eliza Jane Barnes and Miracle Fortress.
Springfield, Mass. trio, Alottle is perhaps one of the more clever and engaging bands to emerge out of the Western, Mass indie scene in recent years. Imagine the Beach Boys, XTC and the Melvins pounding sand up your ass and you've got a pretty good indicator of Alottle's sound. The band plays their first Halloween gig on October 29 at the Florence, Mass VFW along with fellow wacksters, Conduit, Problem With Dragons, Rub Wrongways Caravan of Stars (featuring members of School For the Dead, the Fawns, Jason Bourgeois), and Kill D. Stroy.
