Meika Cole refers to herself as the "self proclaimed music connoisseur". In her formative years, Meika studied music, songwriting and journalism. From 2002 to 2006, the Pontiac, Michigan native worked as an intern for Hidden Beach Recordings, coordinating listening parties and other events for artists' Jill Scott, Seal, Mike Phillips and Kindred the Family Soul.
