Twilight soundtrack vs. New Moon soundtrack, which is better

Twilight soundtrack has more alt rock feel

I was greatly amused when one of my favorite indie bands was blogging a discussion between themselves and a tour mate over which Twilight Saga soundtrack they liked better.

I tried to picture a group of guys still half painted in last night's makeup having a pajamaed gathering in the racks and voices randomly breaking into excited squeals of "But I liked that it opened with Muse and that was better than Death Cab For Cutie," followed by a chorus of "But the songs on New Moon were darker and more emo and had a better use of indie artists as where Twilight is arguably a more commercial soundtrack."  I picture someone breaks in asking "And why Collective Soul, they haven't done anything in so long unless it was some underground thing.  Are they even good anymore?"

I wonder if at some point in the bickering if they begin the Edward vs. Jacob debate or if I am just projecting.  Most likely this whole conversation was nothing like reported and someone was drunkenly slurring their comments while someone else was scratching themselves in an unmentionable place while playing X-Box, someone was passing out on their bunk begging for everyone else to stop yelling, while the person that was blogging about the whole ordeal was hanging out in a dark corner enjoying the argument.

Maybe my vision of the whole thing was a little more romantic.

So which soundtrack is better now that New Moon has been in rotation for awhile?  Let's examine the track lists.

New Moon fares more indie rock and emo feel

Twilight soundtrack:

Supermassive Black Hole- Muse,Decode- Paramore,Full Moon- The Black Ghosts, Leave Out All The Rest- Linkin Park, Spotlight (Twilight Mix)-Mutemath, Go All The Way (Into The Twilight)- Perry Farrell, Tremble For My Beloved- Collective Soul, I Caught Myself- Paramore, Eyes On Fire- Blue Foundation, Never Think- Rob Pattinson, Flightless Bird, American Mouth-Iron & Wine, Bella's Lullaby- Carter Burwell

New Moon Soundtrack:

Meet Me on The Equinox- Death Cab For Cutie, Friends-Band of Skulls, Hearing Damage- Thom Yorke, Possibility- Lykke Li, A White Demon Love Song-The Killers, Satellite Heart-Anya Marina, I Belong to You (New Moon remix)-Muse, Roslyn- Bon Iver & St. Vincent, Done All Wrong- Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Monsters- Hurricane Bells, The Violent Hour-Sea Wolf, Shooting the Moon- OK Go, Slow Life (with Victoria Legrand)- Grizzly Bear, No Sound But The Wind- Editors, New Moon (In the Meadow)-Alexandre Desplat

By far, I have to hand it to New Moon.  Discuss your thoughts below.

Wonder how many of those guys from my fantasy tour bus sleep over agreed.  If any of you happen to be reading this, send pictures from your next late night bus music argument for us!

I f***ing hate Twilight. Twilight, the tiny face who plays Edward, the ugly mullet who plays Bella, and all of their loyal fans can suck a fat one. I hope Stephanie Meyer gets hit by a bus traveling at 90 mph on her way to church....there would be one less retarded mormon on the planet. Unfortunately, her twisted legacy of deformed vampires will live on in little virgin girls' hearts. I hope she gos to hell and Satan rapes her with his pitchfork. & that's coming from an atheist, too. UGH.
