The Indianapolis Colts will be without four-time Pro Bowl DE Dwight Freeney when they play the Houston Texans Sunday.
Freeney, the franchise’s all-time sacks leader and the team leader this season with 9.5, missed all three practices this week with an abdomen injury. He did not travel with the team to Houston.
With Freeney out, DE Robert Mathis — a 2008 Pro Bowl selection who has 8.5 sacks this season — will move to Freeney’s right end position, with veteran Raheem Brock starting on the left side. The Colts signed free-agent veteran Josh Thomas , who spent 2004-2008 with the team and who played one game with the team this season, this past week.

Third-year DE Keyunta Dawson also is out with a knee injury.
Freeney, a first-round selection in the 2002 NFL Draft, has missed just nine games because of injury in an eight-year NFL career. Seven of those games came in 2007, when he sustained a season-ending foot injury with seven games remaining.
