Indianapolis Colts Daily Digest: On offensive line changes and a free-agent visit for Ryan Lilja

THE DAILY DIGEST | Indy Football Report Editor John Oehser takes a look at what they're saying about -- and what's going on around -- the AFC Champion Indianapolis Colts . . .

The guessing about and around the Indianapolis Colts' offensive line continues.

So does the speculation.

Actually, it's important to note any guessing in reference to what's going on with the Colts' offensive line is very much being done around the Colts – i.e., by  fans and media – and not inside the walls at their training facility, because if history shows anything, it's that President Bill Polian and the Colts do nothing without a plan.

If a decade of winning isn't proof of that, it's at least enough to give them a serious benefit of whatever doubt observers may have.

A glance around the blogosphere reveals that already – just over a week into the free-agency period – fans are projecting next year's starting lineup on the line, which because of the recent release of guard Ryan Lilja will be altered at least a bit.

The question is, “Just how different will the line be?”

That's what the speculators are speculating about, and the speculation is wide-ranging.

Some speculate that Adam Terry, signed as a free agent from the Baltimore Ravens Friday, will start at right tackle.

Others speculate right tackle Ryan Diem may move inside.

Or that left tackle Charlie Johnson will move inside.

They speculate that Andy Alleman could start at guard, or perhaps Terry will start at guard with Diem staying outside or perhaps, or perhaps. . .

The point is, the blogosphere has been full of projecting in recent days, most projecting bigger, 300-plus alterations, and some may be right. But probably not.

And it's not that the projections aren't logical.
