Indianapolis Colts CB Kelvin Hayden said Tuesday he'll be ready for the regular-season opener.
Hayden, a starting cornerback the last two seasons who signed a contract extension in the offseason, has missed all three preseason games with a hamstring and said Tuesday he won't be ready to play against Cincinnati Thursday in the Colts' 2009 preseason finale.
But he said he's confident he'll be ready when the Colts play host to Jacksonville in the September 13 regular-season opener.
“I'm confident,” he said. “I'm very confident I'll be ready Week One. If it was this weekend, I wouldn't be back. But I'm more confident than ever I'll be back Week One.”
