Former Indiana All-American and current New Orleans Hornets guard Eric Gordon has been named as one of the 20 finalists for Team USA’s 2012 London Olympics roster.
Gordon, a native of Indianapolis and 2008 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, won a Gold Medal at the 2010 FIBA World Championships as a member of Team USA, who went 9-0 to win the U.S.’s first world championship since 1994. He averaged 8.6 points and 1.6 rebounds per game, while shooting 45.8 percent (27-of-59) from the field and 45.2 percent (19-of-42) from 3.
In his first two games with the Hornets, Gordon averaged 21.0 points per game, while boasting a career average of 18.1 points per game in 198 career games in the NBA, including three seasons with the L.A. Clippers.
The official 12-man U.S. Olympic team roster will be announced later this year
