Rep. Diane Watson (D, CA) talks race, Castro and Che Guevara
Treason was talking last week when Rep. Diane Watson (D, CA) spewed forth at her own town hall meeting that to oppose President Obama was racist, that Fidel Castro was to be praised for what he had accomplished in Cuba, and that Che Guevara was a patriot for "kicking out the wealthy" during the revolution.
Yes, I use the "T" word and I don't apologize for it.
Is there any doubt that the Congresswoman would most certainly go ballistic if I referenced her with the "N" word?
Why then should there be any surprise that when she uses race baiting to paint her political opponents as desiring this country to fail, and simultaneously praises sworn enemies of same country, that there just might be other citizens of said country who would take those words as nothing less then treasonous?
Think I'm too harsh? Consider the primary definition of treason from Merriam-Webster.com as being as simple as: the betrayal of trust.
Now consider the following from the Congressional Oath of Office:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same;
How can anyone with a brain larger than a toad reconcile overt embracement of communism and ideals in direct violation to our Constitution with bearing "true faith and allegiance" to the same?
In yesterday's column regarding Harry Reid bullying the Las Vegas Review Journal I suggested that this country will not lay down to be run over by the left wing. Evidently the Watsons of Congress are going to require more than polite suggestion. More likely, come fall of 2010, they will need a wholesale "nudge" at the ballot box.
And for those who think I'm too harsh on Watson and that she couldn't be that worthless.

While Watson has sponsored a whopping 38 bills since January, 2001, 29 of them never even made it out of committee.
The 5 bills that she has seen enacted while living off the taxpayer dime breakout as follows:
3 Post Office name changes
1 bill awarding the Congressional Gold Medal to Dr. Dorothy Height
1 bill re-authorizing the United States Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy by (I kid you not) "striking `October 1, 2006' and inserting `October 1, 2009'."
Yes you read it right. The only Watson sponsored operating legislation is nothing but a date change to amend legislation already in force. And to top it off, that was back in May 2007 with nothing enacted since.
But perhaps I am being a bit too harsh. After all, she did mention in the above video that she had just returned from a taxpayer funded trip to the Far East. (That had to be hell)
I wonder what kind of travel budget she'd get from her hero Fidel?

I have cuban friends in Florida that moved to the States because they didn't want to live under Fidel Castro regime. They can speak up and say how Castro destroyed a good country. Diane Watson should move to Cuba and live in that regime she loves so much.

An amazing diplay of ignorance about Castro & Cuba. I went to Cuba on a mission trip 3 years ago and "smuggled drugs" (medicines like amoxicillin) that the average Cuban can't get. There are 2 sides to Cuba's medical system: what they show the visiting foreigners, and the pathetic clinics where they reuse needles and have no meds. I toured the National Museum of the Revolution, which was frankly nauseating in its lies and propaganda. Fidel misled the middle class about "change", and did they ever get change. Thousands were shot or murdered, and the people bitterly disappointed by the lies of Fidel. Check your history. Che is no hero, he was a cold-blooded executioner. What's even more alarming then Watson's comments is how silent the Democratic leadership has been. By not denouncing such comments they are implicitly approving of them.
Watson and her ilk may make this column much easier to write with all the material they provide, but I'd rather be without material than having to report on members of the United States Congress openly praising communism and murderers.
Stay vigilant all, these people must not be allowed to end what so many have died to protect.

Yes Fred I am Cuban but when Castro came into power he murdered my father so my mother was left a widow when I was only 8 months old . She like all the Cubans in Miami that came in the 60's left because they either had family members murdered or lost everything they had worked hard all their life for.
We came to America for freedom and the majority of us like myself adopted this as our country. Not because we are in denial of who we are, but because Cuba betrayed us and this country opened his arms to us and gave us all a chance to start a new life, JUST LIKE ALL THE IMMIGRANTS BEFORE US (Italians,Chinese,Greeks,Polish, Irish etc, etc, etc.)

You need to be among the people in Cuba, the ones that get up in the morning and have nothing for breakfast, no clothe to wear; walking through streets with dirt, mud and feces; leave in a house without air condition where your roof is falling apart and your walls are humid and smells, completely different from the one you leave in now. By the way, you do not deserve the position you are now holding as a political congress-“monster”. Sorry. My brain is substantially larger than that of a toad (Ph.D. from one of those elite universities Republicans love to hate) and I don't agree with you. You are indeed way over the line calling Rep. Watson treasonous, or a communist. Reasonable people can indeed differ on the qualities of Che Guevara, Castro and Cuban health care. You have turned your own brain off to the possibility that the US and Cuba could indeed learn from one another; we have each done some things well and some things poorly. If your followers are merely your toadies (interesting that YOU chose the word) then I suppose this unfortunate drivel passes for serious discourse. But I am not sorry I stopped by, as it is important for every American to be reading on the left, center and right on a regular basis.
