His target in the clip from Friday's show is the "major" media/news outlets and their complete lack of coverage of the ACORN scandal that broke Thursday on Breitbart's BigGovernment.com.
Even after a second undercover video by James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles showed the Washington D.C. ACORN office just as fraudulent and corrupt as the Baltimore office, Beck points out that ABC, CBS, NBC and MSNBC had zero stories on the scandal with CNN doing three and the New York Times, Washington Post, and Wall Street Journal coming in at one a piece. Agree or disagree with Beck's views, methods, or demeanor, you cannot disagree that the major media's unwillingness to cover the ACORN story just reinforces what millions of American's already know: there IS bias in coverage based upon political leanings.
From ignoring the John Edward's scandal for weeks, refusing to investigate the radical side of our now President, letting Nancy Pelosi get away with calling protestors "Nazis", to now hyping Joe Wilson's "You Lie" outburst while ignoring previous boos by Democrats to then President Bush and Harry Reid's "he lies" and "loser" comments, the so called "mainstream" press has shown time after time their double standard in the video they run and the stories they print.
Margaret Williams, a Maryland ACORN board member opened her statement on the matter with:
Fox's attempt to smear ACORN Thursday, September 10, 2009 is despicable, part of a coordinated, long-term campaign by Fox to damage ACORN.......
and closed it with:
The larger pattern of Fox's irresponsible actions here is the real news......It is clear and not coincidence that FOX continues to attack and divide our nation along racial lines. We believe our country is beyond this type of attack and call on all Americans to demean that FOX stop it's racist coverage.

The really funny thing is that the main-stream media knows this. Without exception, they KNOW they're biased, and that they're losing ratings and money due to it. I watched the Glenn Beck show yesterday and googled the topic to see what news agency finally picked this up. The lack of coverage by the mainstream media (NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN) is mind numbing. With the obvious bias being shown, it is a wonder that the last election was as close as it was. Although the right will stay right and the left will stay left. I sense many in the middle of America are waking up to the bias of the media and are getting sick of this. When will MSNBC be going out of business? Oh thats right....never because GE that owns them has been receiving so much of our tax money.... they can dump money into NBC and MSNBC losses to support their propaganda machine. This bias being funded by us tax payers is beyond making me mad. Go Glenn and I hope Fox brings one of the big networks down. While the idiotic mainstream media thought this story was of no consequence, even the Census bureau realized its severity, as evidenced by the fact that they dumped ACORN from Census work next year.
Thank God - we have enough problems for now, and for them to cheat on the census and possibly mess up our Congressional districts even further would make our country even more of a mess!
THis is ridiculous that I have to watch the despicable station that had a part in winning us an extra four fixed years of Bush, to get any real news. The first time I heard about this story was on the radio when they played the tape. There was no mention of someone being black and I sure couldn't tell or was even thinking about that. The person on the tape sounded like everyone else. What I heard was someone deliberately going out of their way to break the law.

This story fascinates me. My wife (who used to be a democrat) told me to watch the video of the Baltimore ACORN office and I absolutely could not believe what I was seeing. Giving advice of a blatantly illegal nature to persons who are depicting themselves as a crooked politician and a hooker looking to set up a whorehouse? Then the real stunner. These people giving the advice are paid with tax dollars! They are de facto government employees!

There is still a black out on this news story. Even the article about the Census Bureau cutting ties with ACORN has been spun as a reaction to Republican charges of voter fraud. That ACORN is corrupt is no surprise. It's no surprise, either, that ABC, CBS, NBC, and MSNBC refused to acknowledge this latest outrage, or that CNN, the Times, the Post, and the Journal did their best to do their least to let the public know about it. The so-called "mainstream media" continue to paddle their canoes blissfully into the backwaters of news coverage and journalism and to become increasingly irrelevant to more and more Americans. Of course, if you paddle with only the left hand, that's the direction your canoe will take.
The New York Times ran with an AP wire story on this. They did no reporting of their own, and only brought it to light after the Census Bureau severed ties with ACORN, making it to big a story to completely ignore. The AP story was very slim on facts, and written to make it appear much less damaging to ACORN. Fox was the only major news outlet to give this story the attention it deserves. ACORN is receiving our tax dollars which makes it the MSM's duty to report it.
CNN did more than the others, but even they put a lefty spin on things, and downplayed it.
Can you imagine if Focus on the Family or the NRA was involved in a story like this? They would run it wall to wall 24-7. You couldn't turn on cable news and not see the video. The story has everything - tax dollars, sex slavery, hookers, pimps, and a wealth of incriminating video. It show's how slanted they are to ignore this.
