The August 10 issue of National Review
You read correct, Carrie Prejean (Miss. California) is on the cover of National Review (the conservative publication). Now your respond should be "WHAT THE F*#$" or "YOU GOT TO BE S%&#ing ME"
I have the strongest feeling that the late William F. Buckley Jr. (founder of National Review) is going to pop out of his grave just to strangle the moron who came up with the idea (with a witty yet wise remark).
Sure some political junkies will argue it was a good choice since she is hot; but so is Ann Colter, Sarah Palin, Ayn Rand, or any female country singer.
But come on, she is just an ex-beauty pageant title holder who is no different from any other Vally Girl from Southern California (good looking, good in the bed, not good at everything else).
The main story to go with the cover picture is tittled "The Carrie Effect" which is a few pages worth of written illiteracy about Prejean "encouraging people to voice their opposition against gay marriage and how it help get Proposition 8 (ban on gay marriage) pass.".
To add more laughs to the article, it was written by Maggie Gallagher (this is when you turn your head to the side and go "ewwww thats gross").
This has to be National Reviews biggest blunder since they supported the wrong side during the Civil Rights Movement (for which Buckley apalogized for in the mid-1960's).
All any intellectual could prey for is that this vile cover has not embarrassed the reputation of such a respectable publication.

if she's such an insignificant dolt, why did Hilton ask her for her opinion?
Does no one proof read anymore? Pray not prey. And it's Helped get prop 8 passed...
Awesome!! She's smart, she's still standing, singing and laughing while her attackers are having coronary attacks.
I would love to see Ayn Rand on the cover of The National Review. As the author states, she is hot! And I can only imagine her 25+ years of being dead have only refined her beauty.
This was a wonderful article- one any 3rd grader should be proud of. It was profound in its insightful political commentary and has drastically changed my understanding of the situation. I'm going to nominate this article for a Pulitzer, as this journalist has shaped public opinion so dramatically.
I mean, your skillful mentioning of the plainly visible headline and author, is all the coverage I need! Just knowing Maggie is the one who wrote it, is enough to thumb my nose at any argument she may be using.
To c, Hilton asked her a question as she was a contestant in a beauty pageant. He didn't surprise her at the supermarket with a camera in tow.
To Jerry, she may be standing, singing and laughing, but I wouldn't describe her as smart. Conservatives are having heart attacks, the left is just laugh
Compared to most 22 year old Californians, she's a genius. Give her a few years... she's learning fast. Even 20 years from now she'll only be 42. A nice age for some serious politics or what ever other career she decides to pursue. Even if she goes back to her Special Education Teaching studies and charity work she'll excel at what ever she does.
Good for Carrie! She is a future role-model and will influence many.
"Conservatives are having heart attacks, the left is just laugh"
And most average folks are not laughing with the leftist bashers of Prejean- they are laughing AT them.
Yeah, in any given poll, outside of the far left ones, Prejean wins out.
If conservatives are having heart attacks, why are they still rallying around her?
Your mom needs to wash your foul mouth out with anti-bacterial and anti-viral soap
She is such a slut
Got something to say?
