The language of the health care bill, in regard to coverage of illegal immigrants, is obscure and can be understood to cover illegal immigrants but also to exclude them. President Obama assures the American people that illegal immigrants will not be covered; however, recently the House Ways and Means Committee rejected an amendment that would have required the government to verify that those enrolling in the "public plan" are not illegal immigrants.
Without a system in place to verify an individual’s immigration status, how will we identify those here illegally? We can’t, that may just be the point.
Notes made on July 28, 2009 by the Federation for American Immigration Reform read, “In late June, the National Council of La Raza issued a statement demanding that Congress give illegal alien’s taxpayer-funded health care under this bill. This week, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) also urged Speaker Pelosi to ensure that illegal aliens are covered by the health care reform bill. (Roll Call, July 24, 2009). According to a CHC member, the organization's leaders are not asking Speaker Pelosi to "specifically spell something out" in the bill, but instead to seek to ensure that the bill does not actually prohibit illegal aliens from receiving benefits. "We're pushing to include everyone in the health care bill. Everyone," the CHC member who asked not to be identified said. "Sometimes if you don't say something, something happens." (Id.).”
Given the vague language of the bill, it appears La Raza and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus has far greater influence over law makers than the American people. If this bill passes with this type of ambiguous language, President Obama can be assured of one thing; the majority of Americans will not support it or him.

The devil is always in the details. Unfortunately, neither Republicans nor Democrats even read these bills, much less understand them, before voting on them. These elected officials are not doing the job they were elected to do. They should all be wearing skimasks when they accept their paychecks.
Let's connect some dots.
They are telling us that the plan won't cover illegal aliens because they know there would be even more people opposed to it.
But here's the loophole.
In 2010, Obama plans to grant amnesty to the illegal aliens living here already.
Well, if they instantly become citizens...guess what: they are then eligible for the public insurance option.
Pretty nice loophole Obama came up with, huh?
Can you imagine that? Giving illegal aliens health care coverage when by law, they shouldn't even be in this Country! Of course, I guess they do get health care coverage now because of their illegal alien children they keep dropping here. Illegal aliens have made America the dumping ground for all their illegal alien children, then we have to school them and give them free medical care.
I for one, am sick and tired of these ILLEGAL ALIENS snubbing their nose at our immigration laws and the many other laws of this Country. If our Federal Government can not ENFORCE our immigration laws, and get these ILLEGAL ALIENS out of this Country, then let the States do it! One way or another, an end has to come to this illegal immigration, and not with AMNESTY! Amnesty will only encourage more ILLEGAL ALIENS to invade our Country and reward those who broke our laws and raped the American taxpayer in many ways.
ENFORCE THE LAW and get these illegal aliens out of this Country!
Yes the bill does exclude illegals from health care but here's the kicker-the Deal amendment was voted down July 30. This amendment said all present data bases must be used to verify if the persons applying are legal US residents. It was voted down 30-29. All votes against the amendment were from democrats. What this means is anyone can go in and apply for health care with a false ID and be home free. Way to go democrats.
We as a nation should have control over whom and how many people enter our country. On my recent visit Ellis Island it was clear how carefully people were checked before entering the country, and some people were sent away. Our country is "our house."
When I invite someone to my home I am gracious and accommodating for their visit. But if someone breaks into my house, am I supposed to support them by feeding them and allowing them to stay?
To take this analogy a little further, this person that broke into my house works(cheap)for my neighbor, who knew, but did nothing. The neighbor makes a lot of money as long as I take care of his worker. Even if I was predisposed to be so kind, I really can’t afford it as I am already up to my neck in debt.
Out of analogy mode. We can’t afford to support Mexico’s poor or accommodate those here illegally. Let’s face it we can’t pay our own bills or provide the necessities for our country. Sometimes you have to put your own house in order first.
Moving to Mexico
Dear Mr. President, Senate and House of Representatives:
I'm planning to move my family and extended family (18-20 mouths) into Mexico for my health, and I would like to ask you to assist me.
We're planning to simply walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico , and we'll need your help to make a few arrangements.
We plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here.
So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Calderon, that I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:
1. Free medical care for my entire family.
2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
3. All Mexico government forms need to also be printed in English.
4. I want my kids to be taught Spanish by English-speaking (bi-lingual) teachers.
5. Schools need to include classes on American cu
. I want my kids to see the American flag on one of the flag poles at their school.
7. Please plan to feed my kids at school for both breakfast and lunch.
8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.
9. I do plan to get a car and drive in Mexico, but, I don't plan to purchase car insurance, and I probably won't make any special effort to learn local traffic laws.
10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from their president to leave me alone, please be sure that every patrol car has at least one English-speaking officer.
11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put U S. flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, or have any labor or tax laws enforced on any business I may start.
13. Please have the president tell all the Mexican people to be extremely nice and never say a critical things about me or my family, or about the strain we might place on their economy.
I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all his people who come to the U.S. from Mexico .
I am sure that President Calderon won't mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely.

Democrats intentionally left gaping loopholes in the healthcare bill that will allow illegal immigrants to receive taxpayer-funded benefits.
The bill contains no citizen verification to ensure that illegal immigrants do not gain benefits. In fact, Democrats rejected an amendment to close this loophole.
The bill leaves open the possibility that if one citizen (anchor baby) family member is eligible for affordability credits, then the whole family including illegal immigrant family members, are also eligible for the credits.
By leaving these loop holes open, official can exclude illegal immigrants and allow them benefits in most cases. Very tricky.
But what we really need is enforcement.
Can we build prisons in Mexico to house Mexican criminals?
Can we charge a 50% fee for every dollar sent to Mexico?
Can we require that all deported immigrants take their kids?
Can we make paths to citizenship require self support?
ALL social benefits are for citizens only.
More lies and deceit from the Democrats who want us to pay for the health care of 12-20 million illegal aliens -- while they steal our jobs and we struggle to pay for OUR own bills and health care!!

Get your facts right before you RANT on Mexico and the Mexican people. Just an FYI: Not all illegal immigrants are Mexican nationals. So, you may have to send out letters to include the leaders of the following nations:
1.Guatemala
2.Peru
3. El Salvador
4.Canada

6. Paraguay
7.China
8.Colombia
9. Venezuela
10.Chile
11.Ecuador
The majority of illegal immigrants in this country are Mexicans. This is just a simple fact. They are almost all Catholics and generally against birth control. Let me ask this: why should I pay for some woman who made every effort to be pregnant and gave the birth to 8, 10 or 16 kids while I can only afford to have one child myself? You can do a lot of things to help people but you can never eliminate poverties. Same here: you can make affordable health care available to everyone but you CANNOT give free health care to everyone, as the President said.

Mex, I believe Wyne said "the majority" which does not mean "all" illegals are from Mexico, which is true according to the Pew Hispanic Center. About 57% of the illegal population is from Mexico according to a 2004 report. I would imagine this is slightly higher five years later. I will no speak for Wyne on your second question, but will give you my opinion. Whether you are a citizen of this country or not we should not be supporting irresponsible behavior in any form. This would include family planning. If you can afford many children then by all means... have ten, but you should not have a right to have the taxpayer pick up the bill. I do not know exactly how the issue of abortion came up here. The fact is, it is not the duty of America to take care of the Mexican people and we cannot afford to do it any longer. What we all need is to take some personal responsibility for ourselves and our respective countries. We want people yearning to be free, not yearning for freebies.
While I certainly understand the argument made I have to say the bill has specific language barring illegal immigrants from using health plan. If illegal immigrants go to a hospital right now what would happen in an emergency situation? Right they would be cared for like anyone else.
This plan is definitive and any breaking of the law is like any other illegal act. Should we not have theft laws because some people will still steal?
In the meantime legal Americans who have worked hard and lost coverage due to a layoff can still be covered. Why do some fight so hard to exclude the already excluded and in the process harm their fellow American elderly, children and everyone in between.

I do believe that if this is passed the way they are describing it in the article many americans will be angry and they will most certainly not support it. I too, think this is wrong because why should we pay for free healthcare for people who can't even pay taxes like we all do? Why should I have to sit here and see the illegal immigrants have better things and a easy life while I struggle everyday to make ends meet? They come here have a bunch of kids just to get on welfare, food stamps, and medi-cal so they won't have to work!!! This is unfair! Why should we pay for them to have free health care when they are already living off of us!!!!! I rather not have this bill pass if it is going to turn out this way!
