Penn State to investigate "climategate"; UK scientist to step down

The Daily Collegian is reporting that Penn State University administration officials have announced that they will begin an investigation into the climategate scandal to determine what, if any, further action needs to be taken. One Penn State professor, Michael Mann, was one of the climate scientists whose emails were among those posted on the internet by a hacker nearly two weeks ago.

The emails reveal that climate scientists promoting the theory of Anthropogenic Global Warming, including Professor Mann, fabricated climate change data.  According to the Daily Collegian report, some emails indicate that the director of the research unit in question may have contacted researchers and asked them to "delete certain E-mails."

Penn State officials have said they will not comment on the investigation at this time. A Penn State  spokesman told the Daily Collegian that If anything requires further action the school will handle it. According to the spokesman a panel will read every email that wasleaked and determine if climate change critics have any ground for their accusations, the report says.

Meanwhile, Breitbart.com is reporting that Phil Jones, Director of the Climate Research Unit at England's University of East Anglia, will step down pending the results of an independent investigation into allegations that Jones intentionally manipulated global temperature data. Emails from Jones were also among those released onto the internet.

Oh, are we that stupid? I sure would love to know a few details about this "panel" who "...will read every email...and determine if climate change critics have any ground for their accusations..."

Ah, it's probably as private and close-guarded as the data, the codes modelers use to make predictions - which nobody has access to but trust THEIR LIVES WITH.

NO. ZERO TRUST HERE. YOU'VE ALL LOST MY TRUST. DO YOU HEAR THAT, MICHAEL MANN, GEORGE MONBIOT, AND ALL THE REST? ZERO TRUST. YOU HAVE A-L-L BETRAYED IT.

Word has it that the Climatic Research Unit is to be investigated by Lord Rees, president of the Royal Society. If true, the inquiry would be a farce as the Royal Society is part and parcel of the global warming fraud.

The mainstream media is going under with its load of duplicity and self serving. What is needed is the rise of Truthful reporting; old style "real journalism" -- free NOT to support "causes".

    Lies, damned lies, and statistics.

The falsification of data and the conspiracy to commit same etc, constitutes serious criminal activity. Further, the granting of public funds for research warrants a federal investigation. I’m hoping the perpetrators, including possibly Professor Michael Mann, director of Pennsylvania State University’s Earth System Science Centre and a regular contributor to the popular climate science blog Real Climate, and their facilitators will be tracked down and prosecuted to the fullest extent the law allows. — Michael Santomauro
