Dems establishing scapegoat for economic failures, while pushing socialist agenda

The economy has not responded positively to the policy changes brought about by the current administration.  Unemployment is at a low that President Obama originally "promised" we would not reach.  Understanding that these failures could foreshadow a difficult re-election campaign for most Democrats in the next election cycle, they have begun to build their "excuse". 

Last week Democratic Senator from Michigan Carl Levin said that "additional income tax to the upper brackets, folks earning more than $200,000 or $250,000" would be necessary to fund the war.  This "war surtax" as it is called is beginning to pick up steam among the Dems in Washington.  Now, Wisconsin Democrat, David Obey has stated that the cost of the war could "destroy the other things we are trying to do in our economy".  He has gone as far as to say "if this war is worth fighting, then it is worth paying for", implying that a new tax would be as patriotic as fighting it. 

This is a win-win for them.  If the Dems are allowed to engage in the progressive taxation proposed, they would be furthering their agenda and moving our country toward socialist ideals.  if they were to fail in getting more taxes for the war effort, this will be their cry as to why the economic conditions have worsened on their watch.  Make no mistake, the economy is worsening because our government is embracing Keynesian economic principals that lead to a state run economy and weaken the capitalist society that has made our country what it is today.

In 1932 the government raised the top tax rate to 63 percent.  In another effort to take from the haves and give to the have-nots, the high taxes serve to slow business growth and ensure that our GDP and unemployment will suffer for even longer.  The only thing that pulled our country from the Great Depression was World War II.  The New Deal, which had many principals similar to Obama's plans, only served to lengthen the great depression.  Sure, artificial peaks can be generated through deficit spending but at some point that money spent has to be paid back and our country will be left in a worse position than before.  FDR learned this the hard way.  The reduction in unemployment and the increase in the GDP were both temporary as we fell back into recession in 1937 and had unemployment rise more than it had since the beginning of the depression.  As stated before, FDR's New Deal failure was saved by WWII.

President Obama has socialist ideals and aims to "spread the wealth" by any means necessary.  Until someone in Washington stands up to the current trends of socialism, capitalism will remain in danger and we could end up in the same condition as our European counterparts.  Until these leaders are removed from office and American minded leaders take their place, they will continue to posture and exploit any situation available to further their agenda.
