Can you hear it? It’s the sound of a champagne cork popping to celebrate the birth of my book. Yes, today, after several years in the making, my book, What’s a Mother (in-Law) To Do? 5 Essential Steps to Building a Loving Relationship with Your Son’s New Wife, was released by Simon & Schuster, www.inlawexpert.com.
I have received lots of “best wishes and congratulations” and have taken today off to enjoy the launch with my husband. But, most importantly, the biggest thrill for me is the ability to FINALLY give this book to my daughter-in-law, who was the inspiration for writing it. I wrapped up an IOU and gave it to her as a gift before the wedding, when the book was an idea and before it was written. I knew in my heart that I would be able to eventually deliver the “real deal” and eventually has now come…just in time to coincide with the birth of my first grandchild.
So, it’s off to the post office to mail this special package and to say thank you to my daughter-in-law, Amanda, for being the wonderful woman she is, for being the best wife to my son, Erik and now, for becoming the terrific mother to my grandson, Matt.
Talk to you soon.
