With his approval rating plunging, along with the economy, and faced with growing criticism for the lack of federal enforcement of U.S. immigration laws, Obama knows that there will be no vote before November on so-called ‘comprehensive immigration reform’ (amnesty for illegal aliens).
Unable to deliver amnesty as he promised, at least through Constitutional means, there is mounting concern that Obama will use the power of executive order to do so.
As I have said before…We will be told that granting citizenship to such a large group of people at once will be a tremendous boost to our tax base, and end our exploding budget deficits.
Of course, the vast majority of illegal aliens do not now, nor will they ever make enough money to even qualify for income taxes, they will simply join the 48 percent of Americans who currently pay nothing and our National Debt will continue to soar.
The real reason Obama wants to grant amnesty to the mostly Hispanic population, is to secure the vote that they would then have as American citizens. Obama believes that doing so would assure Democratic control of the White House and Congress for the next several generations.
At least eight U.S. Senators believe that Obama is preparing to order DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano to provide a defacto amnesty, through the use of massive deferred action or parole for the millions of illegal aliens now living inside our borders.
On Monday, Sens. Grassley, Hatch (R-Utah), Vitter (R-La.), Bunning (R-Ky.), Chambliss (R-Ga.), Isakson (R-Ga.), Inhofe (R-Okla.), and Cochran (R-Miss.) sent a letter to the White House, demanding answers to this outrage.
The letter reads as follows:
“Dear President Obama:
We understand that there’s a push for your Administration to develop a plan to unilaterally extend either deferred action or parole to millions of illegal aliens in the United States. We understand that the Administration may include aliens who have willfully overstayed their visas or filed for benefits knowing that they will not be eligible for a status for years to come. We understand that deferred action and parole are discretionary actions reserved for individual cases that present unusual, emergent or humanitarian circumstances. Deferred action and parole were not intended to be used to confer a status or offer protection to large groups of illegal aliens, even if the agency claims that they look at each case on a “case-by-case” basis.
While we agree our immigration laws need to be fixed, we are deeply concerned about the potential expansion of deferred action or parole for a large illegal alien population. While deferred action and parole are Executive Branch authorities, they should not be used to circumvent Congress’ constitutional authority to legislate immigration policy, particularly as it relates to the illegal population in the United States.
The Administration would be wise to abandon any plans for deferred action or parole for the illegal population. Such a move would further erode the American public’s confidence in the federal government and its commitment to securing the borders and enforcing the laws already on the books.
We would appreciate receiving a commitment that the Administration has no plans to use either authority to change the current position of a large group of illegal aliens already in the United States, and ask that you respond to us about this matter as soon as possible.”

The 14th Amendment does NOT grant citizenship to the children of illegal aliens. This was stated by Senator Howard, one of the authors:

If Obama tries to backdoor an amnesty, he should be impeached for violating his oath of office, which included "to protect against all enemies, both foreign and domestic." It is also a treasonous abuse of executive authority.
Another area of treason would be holding enforcement measures hostage until an amnesty is passed. This has been stated repeatedly by Senator Kyl about a private conversation he had with Obama. Obama does not want to enforce the law until amnesty is passed.
Enforcement was promised in the 1986 IRCA as well. It was supposed to be a one time amnesty for 300,000 that would never happen again because they would enforce immigration laws after that. Well the amnesty was granted, for TEN TIMES the number of people originally estimated. Now there are 12-20 million more illegals here, the immigration laws were never enforced, and they want another amnesty!! At a time when unemplyment is over 12%!!! GET REAL!

First of all if illegal aliens are granted amnesty , they are granted residence in the United States, which means they still have to wait 3-5 years to apply for their citizenship, so how this helping Obama? I agree with you 100%. We should streamline the process for LEGAL immigrants. They have to wait a very long time to become citizens. Some as much as ten years. I think that if you come here legally, 5 years is plenty of time to conduct background checks and it is also in line with how long they have to wait to request services. Further, LEGAL immigrants have to pay to send their children to our schools.
However, the border must be secured FIRST, and all ILLEGAL ALIENS must leave. The logical way to do this is to have a lawful presence requirement for ALL taxpayer funded services, privileges, benefits, and grants, and do away with anchor baby citizenship. We also need to prosecute both illegal aliens for their crimes and the businesses that hire them. Further, we need to take all taxpayer subsidies away from groups like La Raza, MECHA, MALDEF, MAPA, etc. If they want money, they can rely on private donations.
If these things are done, most will self deport.

I surprise that we are even listening to the GOP members. In their letter they didn't prove why stay of deportations and paroles will harm country sovereignty. Most of people cannot adjust their status for years even after being married to American citizens and having American citizen children, another group was brought here very young and don't even know another country.
I think GOP is bending the problem too much, they turned it in to the some kind of crusade against people of different nationality, where paper or absents of it justifies hate and discrimination.
May be GOP is in ally with terrorists. They don't want reform because it will mean to register "invisible" people and run a background check.
